World history

World history or global history is a field of historical study that emerged centuries ago, with leaders such as Voltaire, Hegel, Karl Marx and Arnold J. Toynbee. The field became much more active in terms of university teaching, text books, scholarly journals, and academic associations in the late 20th century. It examines history from a global perspective. It is not to be confused with comparative history, which, like world history, deals with the history of multiple cultures and nations, but does not do so on a global scale. Alltagsgeschichte

Alltagsgeschichte is a form of microhistory that was particularly prevalent amongst German historians during the 1980s. It was founded by historians Alf Luedtke and Hans Medick. The name is German, from "Alltag", "everyday", and "geschichte", "history". In this sense, Alltagsgeschichte can be considered part of the wider Marxian historical school of history from below. It challenged the well-known framework of Strukturgeschichte," structured history”, within the German historical field and advocated for a new model of social history.

                                               

Early modern period

The early modern period of modern history follows the late Middle Ages of the post-classical era.
